Encouraged by a Coworker
Written June 2nd.
Good morning lovelies.
Just wanted to share a lil about where I am at on this journey to health. I have been with Weight Watchers (WW) this time since August of 2010. What prompted me to go was leaving a doctor's appointment on the verge of tears. I was going to do some dangerous and unnecessary retail therapy. As I drove to the mall I remembered (thank You Holy Spirit) that the WW place was on the way so I went and checked out the hours and planned to go back. So instead of retail therapy I got me some breakfast and went to my first WW meeting. Since then I would lose then gain. I'm not talking about the weekly fluctuation due to water and our body because as long as I see a downward trend I am doing fine. Then as time passes I would get discouraged then when I jump back on the wagon and start losing I got sick. The doctor put me on an antibiotic that made me sick to my stomach and a steroid that made me hungry. So everytime the naseau pass I would eat up the House!!
After that fiasco it took me a minute to get my strength back I did and then the Holiday's came. I was able to maintain +/- 1 or 2 lbs.
After that I fell out of my back door into a couple of feet of snow and sprained my ankle. So that put my workouts on the back burner and if I'm not exercising then I'm more than likely not gonna eat right.
So anyways a few weeks ago a coworker joined WW with his wife as a support. She has been the poster child for WW losing on average 2lbs a week consistently. My coworker (like a typical male) has been dropping 5 - 7lbs a week. So we keep updating each other on our meetings and their progress. Notice I didn't say my progress because I have been with weight watchers almost a year and haven't made my 5% yet! I was not about to share that but I could encourage someone and share what I've learned and what I struggle with. So this week we were talking and I told my coworker to let his wife know that I was rooting for her and I'm here to support her even though she may not know who I am. My coworker responded oh she knows about you I talk about the office ladies and I also told her how great your doing in WW.
I was dumbfounded and almost burst into tears!! I didn't think anybody noticed or if any improvement was visible. Sometimes I just resigned myself to the fact that I was just going to be fat the rest of my life. I know my clothes fit better and I don't retain water like I use to but this scale just doesn't show that progress.
I know I should be monitoring my measurements to keep a more accurate record of my progress (i'm a procrastinator) but I haven't gotten to it yet.
Anyways I was thoroughly suprised at his comments on how I've come a long way. So I'm back on the wagon.
So if you know someone that's working on losing weight or improving their life, let them know that they are doing a good job and that you are proud of them. It'll mean the world. It'll will help determine if they perservere or give up.
Have a good day!!

Great Weight Watchers Inspiration
This is a great quote!! It was on the weight watcher's board today. It can be applied to all areas of your life.

Declarations
Happy Memorial Day Weekend!!
It has been an early and busy Friday already.
I' m at the gym with my music on shuffle. As I' m inviting the presence of God in my workout Marvin Sapp' s ' He Has His Hands on You' from his ' Here I Am' album began to play and it was exactly what I needed at this point in my life.
Ever declaration and determination of change for the better has been met with challenges. Dealing with a job, family, church work and working on growing spiritually, financially and educationally can become overwhelming and down right stressful. I was sharing with my bestie about how overwhelmed I was and she sent me this in a text yesterday and it really helped.
Psalm 61:2
From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
I' ve been told that I' m "at that age" were hormonal changes will amplify stress and irritation. Well I bind that in the name of Jesus. Lol seriously though a lot of days the simplest words or phrases will bring me to tears. I am by no means a cry baby but lately I have begun to wonder.
This song has begun to comfort me because I had forgotten that God has His hands on me. He sees and He cares about every area of my life. He said he would never leave me nor forsake me. He said I could bear whatever He allows.
I know that this is a rough patch and some things I have to face and decisions I have to make will be difficult but as long as He has his hands on me I will come out all right.
“Romans 8:28 (King James Version)
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
So now I’m encouraged and stopped beating myself up for my shortcomings and just walking in faith that God is allowing me to live and learn and grow. I am by no means quitting or giving up. I will not be deterred from my goals and my destiny. I have dominion over every area of my life and God has given me the authority to declare and decree change in the world. I will stand on His Word!! That’s it!! And that’s all!!
Take a look at the lyrics and listen to the song and enjoy!!
Prayerfully it ministers to you as it did to me.
Smooches!!

Who Switched Numbers with Jesus
Written November 11, 2008 by Roscheeta Brundige
One night I was watching TV when the phone rang. It was one of my god-sisters. We greeted each other then she asked “Who switched numbers with Jesus?”
I asked, “What?”
She says, “Who switched numbers with Jesus?”
I said, “Ok.Say that one more time.”
She says, “Who sings ‘Falling in love with Jesus’?”
After I answered I relayed to her what I initially heard. We laughed for a while and I actually laughed for a few days and still chuckle when I think about it now.
I had so many jokes. I could’ve answered, “Well who answered when you called.” or “I didn’t know He changed His number.” “If He didn’t answer He probably didn’t want to talk to you,” etc.
But when I seriously thought about it, it’s sort of sad.
When we first accept Christ we are excited and full of zeal. We put Christ first in everything. Prayer isn’t a struggle. Obeying His voice isn’t a struggle. Taking all your issues and concerns to Him in prayer is automatic.
Then something happens. We shift Him from #1 to #2 from #2 to #3 so on and so forth.
Slowly but surely our life becomes more important than the Lord. Our job, our children, our spouse and even church work takes becomes a greater priority.
When problems arise we don’t even consider Him as our first and only resort or resource.
We call our friends, family and church members before we even consult God. We move from acknowledging Him in all we do to only coming to Him after we have tried to fix our problems ourselves and when things were good we didn’t consult him at all.
We forget about “Thou shall have no other god before me?’ “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart and with all thy soul and with all thy might?”
“You can’t serve two masters you hate on and love t he other.”
Recently I’ve reprioritized my life and put Jesus back into #1 position.
How about you? Do you want to join me?
I promise it will be worth it!!
With Love prayers and blessings,
Roscheeta
Midnight – Brent Jones
Don’t wait til midnight
When there is no sunshine
You are a stranger until there is danger
You say that you love me and can’t live with out me
Then when do you call me only when you need me.

Check out "Her Best Hair"
The "Her Best Hair" blog is one of the best blogs ever. This is the work of my Curly Nikki sister and hair idol Tiashautee. We share a love of natural hair and Gospel music.
I really enjoy her concise and to the point videos and writing style. Her posts aren't full of filler. She isn't trying to mimic anyone's blog or writing style. She's just being herself and doing what she does best.
Check her out and show her some love.
Smooches!!
Have a great Friday!

Living so God Can Use Me
I had a talk with Jesus! I want to live so God can use me. Any time and any where.
I want to keep my relationship with God on point so that I can pray for others and hear God's voice and obey. I don't want any blood on my hands. For example I was lead to call and pray with my sisterfriend one morninh. The same day she and her son were driving and something (not a bullet per the police) broke out her windows. Glass flying everywhere but she and baby Boy were fine. No cuts no injury!! What if I was preoccupied, what if I wasn't listening. I know it wasn't me but the power of God. Will God have still intervened? Would someone else had prayed a hedge of protection? I don't know but I do know I want to do my part. I will keep my line clear so when you need me I don't have anything blocking my ability to pray and reach God! I will not let my desire to be married deter me from my calling. I will not let feelings or emotions be the basis of my relationship decisions and be a distraction from doing a work for the Lord!! A lot of single people are distracted from the work of God just becuz we refuse to let people go that hinder becuz of it doesn't feel good.
Well I made a decision that didn't feel good. Yes I cried. I moped but I did it. God has sent comfort and a word to encourage and remind me that He is faithful and that what I desire in a husband He is able to do. So while I see others compromise and try to work it out with the counterfeits or while people judge me about being too picky or being hard on a brother. God will uphold me even if I have to stand alone. I refuse to give in. I refuse to give up and I refuse to be jaded. I refuse to be swayed.
At the end of the day as long as I please God is all that matters!!

OMG!! You all know how I say God has jokes. He sits on His throne saying "Now watch this!!", as He chuckles.
Well this one was funny but I'm so grateful for it!
So I'm walking to my car a lady says 'Hi. God bless you'. I say 'Thank u. God bless u as well'. She asked if I was affiliated with any church. I say yes. She asks the name. I say Eureka Bible Church. She says 'that's pretty what does it mean'. I reply 'It means, I have found the bible teaching church. Our motto is we are a church where fellowship is real and the Word of God is preached. She asked if I have children. I say, "No, I can't do that until I have a husband". She says that's right and remember to be picky. Be very picky. Its the second most important decision in your life. The 1st was accepting God in your life and that effects eternity your husband will affect your life and your children's lives.
That whole exchange made me laugh then I began to thank God. Now I'm in tears becuz the hard choices aren't always easy even though they are right. I'm crying becuz even though I know God cares and is concerned and is working things out for me he showed His hand thru a lil lady who obeyed His voice. Just to say 'Daddy's here to take care of you' it may hurt now but it'll pay off in the end!!'
I know it may not mean much to some but it means the world to me! Who wouldn't serve a God like that!! So I'm not compromising!! I also want to encourage others not to compromise either. I promise you if you do what's right even if it hurts now it'll pay off later. Sometimes we hold on to relationships becuz it hurts to let go but when you do I promise you God is faithful!!
Trust him its worth it!!

I'm back.....I'm seeking to be "Lost in His Presence"
I know I have been away for a long time.
On the hair front not much has happened. I did install another set of yarn braids. I have retained some length but I haven't been experimenting with styles just working on tweeking my regimen.
On the music front. I have new music but I'm not quite ready to review yet.
But what I am ready to talk about is Vashawn Mitchell's "Believe in Your Dreams" CD.
I'm listening to the track title 'Lost in His Presence'.
Now I'm wondering why does it seem that the body of Christ has lost its desire to be in the presence of the Lord. Lost the desire to be consumed by the things of God. Lost the desire to want to please Him above all others. How has the body become a people that search for loopholes to fulfill the lusts of the flesh and still believe that we are in the will of God and He will still say Well done thy good and faithful servant. How do we expect a well done if we aren't doing His will but our own will?
Now is the time more than ever to really seek the face of God and to get to know His voice and His will for us. Now is the time for praying and fasting and consecrating ourselves before God. We have chased our own agenda for so long that most of our prayers are spent asking God to do what we want, how we want and when we want instead of praying His word and His will for our lives. We need to sacrifice our will and way for His. Then all these things will be added unto us and He will give us the desire of our hearts.
So the next time you call someone "deep" or say "they are so heavenly minded that they are no earthly good" think about it really hard....is it really wrong to want to spend time with God, to worship Him, to have an intimate relationship with Him. To live for Him and not just offer lip service. Are you saying that because they are daring and striving to reach a standard that you are not willing to sacrifice to meet.
Just some thoughts....feel free to comment.
May the peace of God and the Sweet Communion of the Holy Spirit rest, rule and abide with you.
Smooches.
Here are some of the lyrics.
Lost In His Presence
by Vashawn Mitchell
If by chance you look for me
And you cannot fine me
Don't you worry, I'm alright
I am where I want to be
I am lost in His presence
I am consumed
By the glory of Jesus
The everlasting King
I'm rejoicing with the angels
Lifting my voice to sing
Of the power
Of the everlasting King
In His presence
In His presence
I'm so honored to be
In the presence of the King
I am here
Don't wanna leave
The presence of the King
In His presence
In His presence
I'm so honored to be
In the presence of the King
In the presence of the King
I am here
Don't wanna leave
I don’t wanna leave no, no, no
The presence of the King
I am here
Don't wanna leave
The presence of the King
I am here yea, yeah
I am here Lord
I don’t ever wanna leave oh…
Oh thank you for it allow me in your presence Lord
I’m not worthy
But I don’t ever wanna leave no ho, ho…
Oh I worship you Lord
I worship you Lord
I worship you oh King hey
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
I… ah
I am here
Don’t nobody bother me hey
I’m in his presence
I am in his presence
I need my joy
In his presence the fullness of joy
So I’m not gonna leave no
No…
I am here hey

Oh my God I worship you yea… oh

Holy, holy, holy
Holy, holy, holy, holy, holy
The presence of the King…
Hallelujah Jesus,
We worship you
On the hair front not much has happened. I did install another set of yarn braids. I have retained some length but I haven't been experimenting with styles just working on tweeking my regimen.
On the music front. I have new music but I'm not quite ready to review yet.
But what I am ready to talk about is Vashawn Mitchell's "Believe in Your Dreams" CD.
I'm listening to the track title 'Lost in His Presence'.
Now I'm wondering why does it seem that the body of Christ has lost its desire to be in the presence of the Lord. Lost the desire to be consumed by the things of God. Lost the desire to want to please Him above all others. How has the body become a people that search for loopholes to fulfill the lusts of the flesh and still believe that we are in the will of God and He will still say Well done thy good and faithful servant. How do we expect a well done if we aren't doing His will but our own will?
Now is the time more than ever to really seek the face of God and to get to know His voice and His will for us. Now is the time for praying and fasting and consecrating ourselves before God. We have chased our own agenda for so long that most of our prayers are spent asking God to do what we want, how we want and when we want instead of praying His word and His will for our lives. We need to sacrifice our will and way for His. Then all these things will be added unto us and He will give us the desire of our hearts.
So the next time you call someone "deep" or say "they are so heavenly minded that they are no earthly good" think about it really hard....is it really wrong to want to spend time with God, to worship Him, to have an intimate relationship with Him. To live for Him and not just offer lip service. Are you saying that because they are daring and striving to reach a standard that you are not willing to sacrifice to meet.
Just some thoughts....feel free to comment.
May the peace of God and the Sweet Communion of the Holy Spirit rest, rule and abide with you.
Smooches.
Here are some of the lyrics.
Lost In His Presence
by Vashawn Mitchell
If by chance you look for me
And you cannot fine me
Don't you worry, I'm alright
I am where I want to be
I am lost in His presence
I am consumed
By the glory of Jesus
The everlasting King
I'm rejoicing with the angels
Lifting my voice to sing
Of the power
Of the everlasting King
In His presence
In His presence
I'm so honored to be
In the presence of the King
I am here
Don't wanna leave
The presence of the King
In His presence
In His presence
I'm so honored to be
In the presence of the King
In the presence of the King
I am here
Don't wanna leave
I don’t wanna leave no, no, no
The presence of the King
I am here
Don't wanna leave
The presence of the King
I am here yea, yeah
I am here Lord
I don’t ever wanna leave oh…
Oh thank you for it allow me in your presence Lord
I’m not worthy
But I don’t ever wanna leave no ho, ho…
Oh I worship you Lord
I worship you Lord
I worship you oh King hey
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
I… ah
I am here
Don’t nobody bother me hey
I’m in his presence
I am in his presence
I need my joy

So I’m not gonna leave no
No…
I am here hey

Thankful For A Lot, Including My Pandora Stations
Hello all!! I hope this finds you well on this Holiday week. This week we are giving thanks for what we have and where we are, even if it's not what we wished or what we planned to be, because we all know that things could always be worse.
I'm thankful my life, health, transportation, employment, salvation, family, food, clothing and shelter, friends and good music, especially gospel music. This isn't an all inclusive list but it's a great start.
Today I'm gonna share with you the stations I have created on my Pandora Radio. Pandora allows you to search a genre, artist or song to create a station. The station then plays songs that have similar notes cadences and categories it will not just be music from that individual artist if you chose an artist based station. It allows you to 'thumbs up' or 'thumbs down' a song. This will help you narrow down what you will hear on this station.
Note that this list is not exclusively Gospel Music, I just wanted to give you an inside look and what I like to listen to. I will put an (*) next to the Gospel Stations that way if you are looking for those artists it'll be easier to pick them out. ;-)

My CD Collection - CD cases #2
Good day to you all. I need to catalogue my music collection so I decided to put them in the blog. I think that will be easiest.
I don't own all the music but between me and my siblings we purchase a lot of music. So I have access to all of the music listed.
I am starting with the CD cases because it's easier I will eventually have to move to CD stands and boxes of audio tapes (which may have been repurchased on CD) that we refuse to throw away.
Anyways, if you see something listed and want a review please leave a comment. Have a wonderful and blessed day!!

Listen Up Giovanni Lovers
I tried an online store that is new to me, Vitacost.com. Their Giovanni Products were about 45% off.
I came across this site when I was searching on the Swagbucks.com. Anyone using Giovanni know that the average price range in $7.99 - $9.99 for 8.5 ounces. So I decided to give it a try.
I ordered the following:
Giovanni 50:50 Balanced Shampoo - $4.33
Giovanni 50:50 Conditioner - $4.43
Giovanni Direct Leave in Condition - 2 bottles @ $4.43 = $8.86
Jarrow Formulas Organic Coconut Oil 16 oz - 2 jars @ $4.36 = $8.72
Order was $26.34 shipping and handling was $4.99 for a grand total of $31.33.
This order was placed on November 4th a lil before midnight. It shipped November 5th in the evening. The package originated from Las Vegas and arrived in Michigan this afternoon via UPS.
My sister opened the box for me because I was curious as to what condition it would arrive in. Each Giovanni bottle was wrapped in plastic then the bottles were put in ziploc bags. The jars of coconut oil was placed on it's lid (which is plastic) they were wrapped and bagged as well and air pillows were strategically placed throughout the box.
If you want check them out. Please note not all items sell that low but $4.99 flat rate shipping is a great deal with the 45% off.
I will definitely be ordering from them again.
