Listening to the Radio this Morning

Hey I was listening to the radio this morning and there were two songs that I really, really, really, really love.

One is "Heaven is Listening" (may not be the exact title I didn't call the station to get it) by Deitrick Haddon off of his new album "7 Days". I have waited patiently for something from him. I have always loved his work. From Voices of Unity to his solo projects and production work on his wife's Damita's album.

The other song is "I need a Healing" (may not be the exact title) from Kelly Price. I was sort of skeptical as most gospel music lovers are when a secular artists releases a gospel album. But I was thoroughly pleased with this song.

If anyone has either of these CDs or heard other tracks feel free to post your comment.

Blessed to be a Blessing.

Love,

Ro.

Hello All,

I know you are not used to hearing from so soon but.........someone suggested I write a blog so here it is.

I received an email from Juanita Bynum's website the other day about "Gospel Goes Classical" this was a live event featuring a full orchestra under the direction of Dr. Henry Panion III, a orchestra choir and the vocal styles of Juanita Bynum and Jonathan Butler. There was a program aired on the TBN) or what ever the call letters are where you are) on Friday 10-27-06. I really was interested because we all know just because you like someone's solo project doesn't mean you will like duets and other peripheral projects. But as it happens after OT Survey I went home and low and behold they were on. And in the style of Juanita's "Piece of My Passion" album they started off with old school gospel which sounded brand new with all the the instruments then there were interviews with the producer of the show, Dr. Panion the director of the orchestra, and Jonathan Butler.

Songs that were featured on the show were 'We Worship You', 'We Need You', and 'One Night With the King'. I fell in love with every song I heard. And Jonathan Butler... WOW..the man can sing. I don't just mean keeping beat and tempo and giving a good show. NO he sang from his soul like the music came from the deepest part of his soul and even if no one was listening he would still sing in with all his might just to express his love for God. Now I don't know much about Mr. Jonathan. I've heard his name on the radio when they back sale songs but I never new or heard too much that I can recall until the great album 'Alive in South Africa' by Israel Houghton. I remember thinking "This man can sing he must be new." Well I have realized that he isn't new I'm just late.

Any way back on topic. The Gospel Goes classical CD is in stores now (I picked mine up on Saturday) and the DVD will be out soon.

And if you are looking for something GREAT to add to your collection I strongly suggest the CD it is a dual disc with bonus features of the DVD (not bad I paid $14.97).

Even if you are not a fan of orchestra's this is good because it sounds like music was created to sound.

Love you all, be blessed, and continue to grow in the Lord.
