Thankful For A Lot, Including My Pandora Stations

Hello all!! I hope this finds you well on this Holiday week. This week we are giving thanks for what we have and where we are, even if it's not what we wished or what we planned to be, because we all know that things could always be worse.

I'm thankful my life, health, transportation, employment, salvation, family, food, clothing and shelter,  friends and good music, especially gospel music. This isn't an all inclusive list but it's a great start.

Today I'm gonna share with you the stations I have created on my Pandora Radio. Pandora allows you to search a genre, artist or song to create a station. The station then plays songs that have similar notes cadences and categories it will not just be music from that individual artist if you chose an artist based station. It allows you to 'thumbs up' or 'thumbs down' a song. This will help you narrow down what you will hear on this station.

Note that this list is not exclusively Gospel Music, I just wanted to give you an inside look and what I like to listen to. I will put an (*) next to the Gospel Stations that way if you are looking for those artists it'll be easier to pick them out. ;-)

Listen Up Giovanni Lovers

I tried an online store that is new to me, Vitacost.com. Their Giovanni Products were about 45% off.

I came across this site when I was searching on the Swagbucks.com. Anyone using Giovanni know that the average price range in $7.99 - $9.99 for 8.5 ounces. So I decided to give it a try.

I ordered the following:

Giovanni 50:50 Balanced Shampoo - $4.33
Giovanni 50:50 Conditioner - $4.43
Giovanni Direct Leave in Condition - 2 bottles @ $4.43 = $8.86
Jarrow Formulas Organic Coconut Oil 16 oz - 2 jars  @ $4.36 = $8.72

Order was $26.34 shipping and handling was $4.99 for a grand total of $31.33.
This order was placed on November 4th a lil before midnight. It shipped November 5th in the evening. The package originated from Las Vegas and arrived in Michigan this afternoon via UPS.

My sister opened the box for me because I was curious as to what condition it would arrive in. Each Giovanni bottle was wrapped in plastic then the bottles were put in ziploc bags. The jars of coconut oil was placed on it's lid (which is plastic) they were wrapped and bagged as well and air pillows were strategically placed throughout the box.

If you want check them out. Please note not all items sell that low but $4.99 flat rate shipping is a great deal with the 45% off.

I will definitely be ordering from them again.

I Need To Get This Off Of My Chest

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!!! Get to know people before u sleep with them because if you have children together your lives are intermingled FOREVER!!

So much to say but don't want to hurt peoples feelings.

It's just sad when we settle for something for the moment and it affects and possibly ruins some better things that were/are in our future. You know those moments when you are tired of ur singleness. Or your relationship changes and you have to make a decision.

Really take a good hard look at it.

Do I want to be attached to this person or their family for the rest of my life? Will I be ashamed to introduce them around? Am I gettin some benefit from this relationship? Sometimes we are so into not wanting to seem judgmental or uppity and build relationships with people that are not on our level. Then when you realize it your heart is all in it. So then getting out is harder and more difficult.

Also I want everyone to know that just because sexual urges are strong you (mentally) are stronger. God gave us dominion over this world. A lot of time we give in because we are tired of the struggle or feel like its not worth it but it is.

Pregnancy outside of marriage is serious but we have made it such a lite subject. If you are not committed enough or sure of your relationship enough to get married why have sex and risk being attached through a birth of a child or sexually transmitted disease.  Condoms (male or female) are not a hundred percent. That's how people use them and still get pregnant and contract a disease. Also if you are in a relationship with a person and don't trust them, you check the phone and follow behind them like the police or a parent why, WHY would you trust them with your body.

Irresponsible people are irresponsible in almost every area of their lives. They don't go to the doctor and definitely don't know their hiv/aids status, or how to start to want to be a responsible parent. Do you really want them experimenting on their child.

Maybe, just maybe, I'm thinking too much but I love Roscheeta too much. I plan to protect myself and future children from the consequences of my foolish decisions. I think I'm done but people really need to know that we are not dogs. We don't have to run around in heat and behave like uncontrolled animals. God gave man a mind an a cognitive thought process!! I think I'm done be blessed.

There is more to come on this I feel it brewing in my spirit.....

Yarn Braids Part One

I started braiding my hair at 9:20am I worked until 10:50am. I have completed 3 rows on the left front and 1 row on the right front. My strategy is to twist the front then do the back top to bottom (If that makes sense).

I prepped my hair last night with Kimmaytube leave in and aloe gel. This morning I put on Sweet Nature by Eddie Wisdom Moisturizer and used Long Aid curl activator gel to twist.

I am using my homemade moisturizer spray to moisten the yarn. As I finish a section I spray the moisturizer on my scalp and the part of the braid that has my hair include then put oil on it (mixture of castor, grapeseed and olive oils).

I will update a lil later!!!

PS. Just like when I do my twists I started this side larger than I did on the right side but anyways I'm gonna go with it!!

I Found Inspiration

I Found Inspiration
By Roscheeta Brundige
12/16/2008

I am inspired to pursue
I am inspired to continue
I am inspired to pick up the discarded

Not by perfection but by diligence and determination
By the potential and vision of a black man
Forgotten by some
Discarded by others
Underestimated and oppressed
But the black man that knows his potential and doesn’t hide from it
He embraces it
Chases it
And overcomes it
He is yet the hunter
But now hunts in the pursuit of his happiness in a land that they say is not his
Even though it was built with his back, blood, and tears
In you I found Inspiration
I am inspired by you THE BLACK MAN

Protective Styling - Yarn Braids

It is 1:35am I have prepped my hair and got my yarn cut and moisturized so I can do yarn braids. Yes YARN. I've been interested in them my whole natural journey and just got the moxie and patience to try them.

I cowashed with Bee Mine Avocado Cream Balancing Conditioner. I used my Kimmaytube Leave - In to moisturize then braided my hair insections and banded.

In the morning I will start the process. I will keep you all posted.

Is Shampoo really the "Devil"?

I use to cowash faithfully and avoided shampooing. Now I shampoo weekly with a sulfate free shampoo and use Ayurvedic Herbs or deep conditioner to treat my hair then moisturize and seal. I have found that this works great for my scalp, because my goal is to have a healthy scalp which will produce healthy hair.

Check the article link below to help sort out whats harsh and drying for your hair and what's safe. I found it very helpful.

Here I am, standing in the need of prayer ohohoh
Here I am, standing in the need of prayer ohohohohohohoh
Here I am, standing in the need of prayer ohohoh
Here I am, standing in the need of prayer (x2)

Spoken:
Father in the name of Jesus we come in agreement with you concerning your anointed vessels singing the anointed sound. We pray O God that this anointing o god will destroy the yokes in the lives of men and women, boys and girls everywhere. I pray that the Holy Spirit will hover over this sound and bring conviction to the hearts and minds of people o god causing them to know that Jesus Christ is the answer.
Jesus Christ is Lord to the Glory of God the father. Let it Go o god into the far reaching parts of this earth. And allow this sound to be heard to your glory in Jesus name.

Thank you for hearing our prayer, You heard us (x3)
You heard us
You heard us

Thank you for hearing our prayer You heard us (x3)
You heard us
You heard us

You heard us (x4)

I woke up with this song reverbing through my mind.

Not Like Me
Deon Kipping & New Covenant

(Spoken) Have you ever wondered what the world would be like if God was just like you? Everything you did God did? Everyone you hurt God hurt? And everyone you gave up on God gave up on? It should make you appreciate the fact that He is nothing like you; that His love is unconditional and that His grace and His mercy it endures forever. I have to tell you about this dream

Yesterday I had a dream
That the God I serve was just like me
He treated people real bad
God was sitting right there
He was acting just like me (2X)

Yes, Yes, I pushed people away
Yes, Yes, I watch some go astray, Yes I did!
Yes, Yes, It was hard to believe that God
He was acting just like me

What if God was one of us?
Would He lie like some of us?
Testify like some of us?
Crucify like some of us?
What if God was one of us?
Would He lie like some of us?
Criticize like some of us?
Oh, What if God was one of us?

What if God was one of us?
Oh, Would He lie like some of us?
Oh, Criticize like some of us?
Oh, What if God was one of us (2x)

What would Jesus do? (3x)
If He was just like you?
(4x)

Adlib. What would Jesus do? Oh oh oh. That is the question that runs thru my mind. This the question that I ask.
What would Jesus do? If He was like you .What would He do. Oh oh oh oh if He was just like you
What would Jesus do? You wear it on your arm and you wear it on your shirt. You got it on your car on your desk at work. This is the question the question.
What would Jesus do? You wear it on your arm and you wear it on your shirt. You got it on your car on your desk at work. This is the question that I ask you.

So glad that He is not like me
He's the healer of every disease
Even when I fall down
His hand is always stretch out
I'm so glad He's not like me (4x)

It's Your Choice. Let's Do it Again!!

I wrote this in 2008 after an associate of mine went into a long disertation as to why he wasn't voting and it was his right not to. He is a black male and the main reason was because he didn't want to stand in line all day. At the time he made this statement he wasn't working.

You all can draw your own conclusions just like I did but I am glad I came across this today.

I hope you enjoy!!

It was your choice. Let’s do it again.

Today is such a great day. Yesterday November 4th, 2008 we elected our first Black or African American President. This race wasn’t just about race, it is about change. Taking a chance on someone that isn’t packaged like the status quo. Someone that doesn’t believe that business as usual is still acceptable.

That’s how the civil rights movement was started people believed that keeping things as they were was unacceptable. Women had to fight for the right to vote. Blacks had to fight for the right to vote. Even when they voted they couldn’t vote in peace just like they couldn’t protest in peace. The powers that be saw the threat and came at them with hoses, guns, dogs, and bombs. Women lost there husbands and men lost there wives. Parents lost their children but onward they marched. So if you didn’t vote it’s your right not too, but it is a disgrace to the people who laid their lives, families and livelihood on the line for a dream that people that they didn’t know or would never meet will have the right to choose the president, senator, governor, school board member, etc. of their choice.

This is a direct correlation to salvation. Jesus died for the sins of the whole world. He laid down His life for people yet to come, people who turn Him away everyday. He was marched from judgment hall to judgment hall beaten all night long. I see Him stomped on and whipped the flesh coming off of His back, the muscle and white flesh beneath exposed and blood just running from His body. But yet ‘He opened not His mouth’ He didn’t defend Himself, He didn’t complain, He just took it. Isaiah 53 said “He was like a lamb ready to be slaughtered the same as a lamb who is ready to be shaven is dumb, silent, and mute.”

Why? He was becoming sin for the whole world. When they applied Jesus to the cross He was sin for all mankind. All your hang-ups, issues and faults on the cross. The crown of thorns bore the wayward thoughts, mental illness and all mental incapacities that we may use as excuses to sin. His hands were pierced for any sin that we may commit. His feet were pierced for any places we may go that is not in His will or lined up with God. He was exposed and humiliated so we wouldn’t have to be exposed. And all that was covered in His blood like we are covered by His blood. The nails, the thorns, the welts and wounds in his body were all covered in the blood of Jesus.

Why, because He loved us so. Bloody, beaten, and tortured, nailed to a tree for everyone to see an exposed man, an innocent man, the Son of God chose to remain on the cross and suffer a sinner’s death that we all have a chance to be free and reconciled to the Father, that we will no longer be slaves to sin but heirs and joint heirs in Christ.

Maurette Brown-Clark said it best. I saw a crowd with White man, Black man, Arab man, women, boys and girls lifting their hands surrendering their lives to the Lord.

“I dream that your soul would be saved, I dreamed that your life will never be the same. Although I may never know your name, I dreamed your soul and I saw it saved.”

Now you may not be sure about your electoral vote or choice was the correct one. You may not know if things will work out like we all expect. But one thing for sure when you choose Jesus Christ as your personal savior it is the best choice.

Don’t turn His gift away. Don’t let that dream die. Right now so many of us are living the dream that our ancestors could only slightly imagine, so why not live the ultimate dream. The time is now and the day is the day to hear God’s voice and not to harden your heart to His call. Time is short and no man knows the day or the hour when the son of God will appear.

Make Jesus your choice today.
