Believe in Your Dreams - S.O.S, No Way, Lost in His Presence

Minister Vashawn Mitchell has put together a great project. There is a track on the album named "S.O.S, it is such a great song. Even when you are walking closely with the Lord we need help to stand and trust Him. Help to let Him complete the work in us. We need to know that He is there and that He cares. We must remember that God is concerned about every area of our lives.

There is a track called "No Way" this track reminds you that there is no way that any weapon formed against you will prosper.

Another great track is "Lost in His Presence". This a great worship song. Have you ever been a place where the worship is so awesome you didn't want it to end. You know the place. The place where all problems cease. There is no hurt there. There is no sickness there. You can feel the anointing and glory of God in your body, in your heart and in your soul. Worship is what our soul longs for. It longs for that intimate relationship.

INTIMATE.

That's why the Bible says "But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." God wants all of you, lay all the cards out on the table. You can't hide the short comings and imperfections. He isn't looking for the rags that you consider righteousness. What He wants is your mind, body, heart and soul. He will do the perfecting until the day of Jesus Christ.

That's why I can do as the song says and become lost in Him.
"I am lost in his presence
I am consumed by the glory of Jesus
the Everlasting King.
I am rejoicing with the angels
lifting my voice to sing
of the power of the Everlasting King."

This is the great thing about great gospel music it has meaning and it speaks to you.

Until next time continue to worship.

Your Servant in Christ.

Believe in Your Dreams

Happy New Year,

Well it's 2008 and time for new beginnings. I know it's been a while (months) since I've posted something. Hopefully you will enjoy the feel and look of the page. My endeavor is to inform others about music that encourage others as they begin or continue to walk with Christ. Without Him I can do nothing I am as sounding brass. Pray for me that I complete the task at hand and please the Father in ministry.

Now, back to the music. Let's go back to 2004, Vashawn Mitchell's project "Believe in Your Dreams" is a must have. The first track that I heard on the radio is "Where the Praises Are".

The words grabbed my ears first :
"I want to be where the praises are,
I want to be where God is.
I want to be where the Spirit is,
there's no place I'd rather be.
Where the Spirit is there is liberty.
Whom the Son sets free is free indeed.
He inhabits the praise of you and me.
There's no place I'd rather be."

Isn't this what we all want, to be where God is? To freely give to and receive from Him.

We must remember that the praises are not just in church but everywhere the people of God are. After we've praised Him on the instruments, with our voices and in dance we should praise Him in our daily conversation and walk. Tell others how good He is. Show your appreciation by thanking Him for the small things (as we call it). Life, health, strength, shelter, clothes, food, sobriety, sanity, freedom, etc. When someone says "Sister you sang today." Your response should be, "Thank you, it was nothing but the Lord." You might get some strange looks but it's an effective way to keep pride down and God uplifted.

Well that's it for today. I will review other tracks from this album this week.

As always your comments are welcome. Let me know of any music you want me to review.

Your servant in Christ,

Roscheeta.

PS. Special thanks to "Spike" Ellis. His interest in the Gospel Review has prompted the revival of this blog. If you want to see what he's up to check out Spikehouse Productions. He has been playing drums for Mandisa as well as others. Keep holding it down for Flint.
