Catch the Vision of Your Leader and Be Blessed

Catch the vision of your leader and be blessed! Following the vision of a Godly leader takes humbleness, a spirit of obedience and faith in God. We need to realize that God is in control of everything. We should totally trust God to guide our Leader in the right direction and this should produce obedience to our leadership. I often marvel at the miracle God wrought at the walls of Jericho. This was an example of obedience to the man of God. The people of God followed God’s instructions. Let’s look at the mandate they had to follow.
Jos 6:2 And the LORD said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valour. Jos 6:3 And ye shall compass the city, all ye men of war, and go round about the city once. Thus shalt thou do six days. Jos 6:4 And seven priests shall bear before the ark seven trumpets of rams' horns: and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets. Jos 6:5 And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram's horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him.
When Joshua fought the battle of Jericho god gave them specific instructions to win. They didn't ask a lot of questions like we would today. Well why can’t we walk seven times the first day? Why does it have to be a whole week? Is He sure God spoke to him? This doesn’t make sense! How is walking and shouting gonna overcome the city? Why did the priests have to go first? Why do they get to blow the Ram’s horn? I wanted to do that!
"Jos 6:10 And Joshua had commanded the people, saying, Ye shall not shout, nor make any noise with your voice, neither shall any word proceed out of your mouth, until the day I bid you shout; then shall ye shout."
One of the main reasons we are not victorious in many areas of our lives is because of disobedience. We want to know the 'whys' to everything. Instead of obeying the man of God and trusting that God is in total control. God says shout we wave our hands. He says pray we sing. He says worship we wait. He says trust we talk. He says go we stay. They didn’t boast or taunt the people of Jericho. They walked in silence and obedience and they were blessed. They were victorious! Catch the vision! Follow in Obedience and be blessed!

Will Your Heart and Soul Say "YES!!"

1-29-2013

I’ve been listening to “Yes” by Shekinah Glory. I had an email from Amazon saying some songs had been added to my MP3 library because I purchased the CD. That is what reminded me about this song. So I put the intro, album version and reprise on repeat. As I listened during my morning devotion it was the perfect backdrop for the Word of God. Today I studied how Esther obeyed Mordecai and how even though God wasn’t mentioned He was in control and led Mordecai on how to instruct Esther and she obeyed.

Why is it we find it hard to obey God? Why is it that we don’t seek wise counsel? Why do we not heed to sound advice?

Even though there were a lot of scriptures especially in Proverbs about wise counsel and obedience.

1 Samuel 15:22 is what really stuck out to me.

22 And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. (KJV)

1 Samuel 15:22

New Life Version (NLV)

22 Samuel said, “Is the Lord pleased as much with burnt gifts as He is when He is obeyed? See, it is better to obey than to give gifts. It is better to listen than to give the fat of rams.

So basically why fast, pray, and try to keep the commandments if you are not going to trust Him.

Jesus addressed it several times in the New testament that if you don’t keep his commandments or do His will that we do not love Him.

John 14:21

He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”

John 15:10
New King James Version (NKJV)

10 If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.

1 John 5:2-4

New King James Version (NKJV)

2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. 4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our[a] faith

So as I was meditating on obeying and loving God. I began to think on Hosea and how he married the harlot and no matter what she did or who she whored around with Hosea would always go look for her or find her bring her home. He would still take care of her despite of herself. In spite of all she had done. Now if you are like me and hear lessons and sermons on this we know that is parallel to the children of Israel’s relationship with God. They would worship idols and do all matter of things and God would always deliver them. He would always take them back. He would always love them in spite of themselves.

Well today after studying about the correlation of obedience and loving God. I began to feel the heart of God. When you have been single most of your adult life it makes you feel some kind of way about the whole matter. You hear people say how beautiful you are or how great and wonderful you are but their actions rarely reflect their words.

If I was that great and wonderful why you don’t seek to spend time with me? Why is it you can see past my exterior? Why is it you don’t know my heart? Why is it you don’t know what I desire? Why is it you don’t of your free will want to give me you? Or give me what would make me happy? Why is it you don’t know the simple things that make me smile?

Have you ever been in a relationship that seemed one-sided? You give and give but never receive.

That’s how God feels. Service after service we lift our voices and hands and sing beautiful songs to the God of our salvation. We testify that He is good! There is none like Him! He is Wonderful! He is Great and greatly to be praised! He is faithful!!

Do we really believe that God is all that or is it really lip service? If you know that He is faithful, if you know He has your best interest at heart, why not obey him? Why not keep His commandments. Why not trust Him.

If we really believe God is in control and see’s the end from the beginning why don’t we spend more time with Him? Why do we find it hard or even strange when people spend hours in bible study or prayer or just meditating on the Lord?

We break God’s heart on a daily basis. He longs to hear from us. He longs to spend time with us. He wants us to come to Him sometimes not asking for anything.

So I’m making it my mission to learn more about what pleases God and be about doing that starting with obeying Him.

Be blessed and be a blessing.

08-07-2012 life updates

Sunday I did a short workout on the Xbox. According to my body media I didn't burn a lot of calories but I got a lot of steps.
Sunday was great calorie wise.

Monday
I went for a 25 minute walk with a coworker and went to the gym.

Recumbent bike 22 min 3 miles 96 cals burned

Tricep press 20# 3 sets 20
Biceps curl 20# 2/15
Shoulder Press 10# 2/15
Row/rear deltoid 20# 2 sets 20
Leg extension 30# 2 sets 20
Pull down 20# 2 sets 20
Back extension 50# 35 reps

It wasn't a killer workout but the strength training was on point because as I sat at work today (Tuesday) doms (delayed onset muscle soreness) sat in. I take that as a sign that I'm on the right track.

The plan was to do water aerobics today but I cancelled that. I have to remember that I'm just starting and my muscles need to recover.

Food yesterday and today was good. Under calorie goal.

Have a good night

August 5th 2012 saturday review

Well Zumba class was shortened due to equipment failure. It's a lil hard to do zumba without music. Therefore I had enough time to get ready for the pool and sit in the Arizona dry heat room before water aerobics began. As I sat in the room there was a conversation between a couple of ladies. Lady A has a 18 year old grand daughter that's over 300 lbs and she is trying to convince her to go to the gym or more like make her come workout. One thing I took away from the convo that the other lady pointed out is that you can't make her come to the gym or take better care of herself. You can encourage and support but it has to be something she wants and is determined to do herself.

On to the pool water aerobics was good. It's been a while since I've been the water basically because I don't trust pools. Especially public pools cuz people are nasty and chlorine doesn't clean or kill everything but I digress. I definitely worked muscle groups the I had long forgotten about.

So after class I was in the pool doing a lil extra cardio and was approached by a 75 year old Asian lady I swear she looks 50. Anyway she began to asks how often i come to the gym and explains to me how important exercise is to your health especially as you age. She said 'exercise comes first', when she said that I thought 'no God comes first' and before I could figure out how to saw it the politically correct way (smh) she asked if I know about God or went to church. I replied yes and we had a great conversation about being filled with the Holy Spirit and how we don't have any strength or power without God and how he made her happy. She talked of trusting God because of Romans 8:28
"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." So even though bad things happen good can come out of it.

I can't begin to really convey or share everything but I enjoyed my day of working out.
My food journal was on point until later that day. But I'm not ashamed. If you want to see the details friend me on MyFitnessPal.com I am SheeTacular.

New Music to Change the Mood of My Day

Today was one of those days where you don't wanna get out of bed let alone get dressed and commute to work. Don't get me wrong I am thankful and grateful for my employment and ability to get up and commute to work but I think you all know what I'm saying. I'm thinking I need a vacation. I need time to think and relax and depressurize. Anyways....I decided to change the atmosphere by playing some music and decided to download a song I discovered yesterday on YT.

I was watching hair videos on YouTube and SimplYounique had this song playing in the back ground. I was really feeling the lyrics.

The song is ‘Almighty’ (Acoustic) by Christine Vest. Not only can she sing and play the guitar she is a natural beauty.

Here are the lyrics. Click the Title and the link will take you to here YT channel and she is singing the song live. I hope you all enjoy.

Open my eyes
Help me to see
That it’s you that I need
Not the world’s “no guarantee.’
Open the door
No man can close
So that you may be glorified and your blessings may flow.

Deliver
Set free
Cleanse me
Jehovah my king
Almighty
Deliver
Set free
Cleanse me
Jehovah my king
Almighty

All that I am
That I should be
Can you make me to be more holy
No turning back
Moving forward
Help me to prove the power of your word

Deliver
Set free
Cleanse me
Jehovah my king
Almighty
Deliver
Set free
Cleanse me
Jehovah my king
Almighty

Holy Spirit fall on me
Holy Spirit fall on me
Holy Spirit fall on me
Holy Spirit fall on me

Open my eyes
Help me to see
That it’s you that I need
Only You that I need.

2012 Happy New Year, Happy New Me

Happy New Year Beautiful People!!

I hope you all are well. The holiday season is behind us and right now I’m getting back in to the swing of things. I didn’t make any New Year Resolutions or any of the such, I decided that since I have been setting goals all through last year that I would just continue to work on those things and if I see something else I need to add on I will do that when the time comes.

So here are the things I am currently focusing on.
  1. Balance - giving time, attention and care to: Finances, Health, Spirit, Recreation and Relationships
  2. Improving my self image and stress management
  3. Educate myself on the mentioned topics and apply what I learn.

I think that’s enough right there.

I may blog about them in more detail at a later date I’m not sure yet.

So I’m excited about the new and improved me. I’m sure some people will have a hard time adjusting to it but my aim is not to live a life of regret and to do my best to mold my life into what I want it to be. I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me.

On another note I have some podcasts that I enjoy listening to. They help me stay focused and introduce me to new resources. Some of them are available on Stitcher.com this will allow you to keep your favorites on your cellular phone and listen.

Books I’m reading or intending to read.

Let  me know if  you listen to or read any of the above. Share you thoughts.

Smooches! Be Blessed.

Christmas Cheer

I thought I posted this but it was in the draft folder. Anyways....ENJOY!!

This is a touching article. It proves you don’t have to have a lot to give just a little thought and time. It really doesn’t take a lot to make a difference in someone’s life.

How's your record?

I was driving home from work and 'Oh My Record Will Be There' by Bishop Gilber E. Patterson on the Singing the Old Time way project began to play. This song really brought me back to a proper perspective of viewing some of the situations in my life.

It doesn't matter what people see, acknowledge or do; what matters is that I do what's right and it will be recorded. When I stand before the judgement seat of God I will be there alone. No excuse, No explanations no more chances to get it right.

So in a world where people are not being held accountable and we are enabling each other in abyss of mediocracy there is one standard that we will give an account to in eternity. Even that secret thing done in the dark will be recorded.

I'm thanking and praising God for this brief and simple song. I hope it touches your heart like it has touched mine.

Lyrics - "Oh My Record Will Be There"

Oh my record will be there - be it's pages dark or far
When I stand before - before that judgement bar
Oh and when the book shall open wide - In that morning by and by
Oh my record, oh my record, it will be there

Song of the Day - 12-08-11 "Cover Me"

Good morning people of God! I hope all is well. This post will be short and sweet.

On of my favorite songs this year is "Cover Me" by 21:03 featuring Fred Hammond.  I was watching the "Blessed & Cursed" movie by Deitrick Haddon and it was one of the songs the praise team sang in rehearsal. I have been on this ever since.

This isn't new but I love it because sometimes we need some one to intercede on our behalf. Sometimes we forget that Jesus is interceding for us at all times so we ask our brothers and sister in the body of Christ to pray for us.

As christians our prayers should be for others more than for ourselves. We should esteem our brothers and sisters above ourselves. I'm not saying that we shouldn't pray for ourselves but sometimes we are so wrapped up in our wish prayer list that we are selfish and don't recognize the struggle of others.

So this season give the gift of prayer. It will go farther than material things.

You can go as far as to type it up and frame it and gift it to someone.

Be blessed.

Guess What I'm doing now??

Did you figure it out yet? Huh? Huh? Did ya?

I'm back to crocheting. YAY!!! (party horns and confetti) One of the many things I'm working on this year is finishing what I start. I was feeling down the other day because I just didn't have the money to give gifts during the holiday to my circle of fam and friends. Then a thought came to me that I could crochet some things to give away. Kill two birds with one stone if you will. So I started with taking apart a scarf I started almost 2 years ago, that was black friday evening and I finished it on Saturday morning. So I have to make some finishing touches you know trim the tails and wash it. I will take a pic of that one later.

Now I'm on a project for my sister. It's a Beret and Scarf set from the Bernat Silk Accessory Crazy book. So I am currently working on the top of the hat.
I'm using Red Heart's Super Saver in Lavendar.

I will keep you guys posted on the progress. Crocheting can reallly be a calming experience.

I also want to learn how to knit.

If any of you are on Ravelry.com please look me up under Sheetaboo930.

Smooches.
