Give the Gift of Music, Give the Gift of Life

A couple of years ago I heard a preacher say "Why do we give sweaters to people that are on their way to hell?" My first response was "What in the world is he talking about?" Well as the sermon went on he explained that as Christians, (saints of God, or saved folk whatever we are calling ourselves these days) we should be more aware and put more thought into our Christmas gifts. Do we pray and ask the Lord for direction? We are asking God to save our family and friends (we should be praying for our enemie's salvation as well) but how are we positioning ourselves to be used by God.

If you buy a CD that will minister to someone, even if they put it on the shelf until one day or late night (in the near or far future) when there is noone to turn to and prayer is not on their mind they may put it in and be ministered to. Maybe a bible, or inspirational book such as "The Purpose Driven Life" or "Matters of the Heart" can be helpful it may end up being a late night reading experience that will change a life forever.

We have to look through God's eyes looking past the material and looking into the spiritual. Even if they don't appreciate it at the time isn't their soul important enough to you to place your self in a potentially akward position.

Take your time and think about it.

Jesus is the Reason for the Christmas season. Let's not be influenced by the world and stop acknowledging God in all that we do so that we are able to be led by God.

"For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God." KJV Romans 8:24-27
